Game Programming
- I understand game engine principles from entering the main loop, fulcrum culling, basic occlusion and on through the processing of meshes using object and world translations. I am comfortable with the math used by game engines, such as utilizing dot products for front facing culling and the use of related translation matrices to unify compound object translations. I continue learn how to best build game engines and about the many processes involved in their execution. Using Visual Studio, I have focused my research on DirectX.
Programming
- I have over 6 years of professional programming experience using Java, JavaScript, PERL, PHP, Python, and Ruby. I am familiar with object-oriented design patterns. My database experience includes use of MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and FoxPro. I am familiar with managing programming projects using revision control applications such as Subversion and SVK.
People Skills
- With over 5 years of customer service experience I’m comfortable interacting with anybody, especially in professional circumstances. When working in a team I strive to engage and acknowledge the entire team; I pride myself in being a team player. I also relish any opportunity to learn from any of my co-workers. For me the relationships I’ve developed professionally have often been rewarding and enjoyable.
Networking
- I understand how the Internet works, including the differences between TCP and UDP. I am currently researching the development of a networking engine for game engines. In addition I have experience with wired and wireless networking such as opening my Xbox’s NAT. I am comfortable with domain registration and DNS settings.
